WHERE IS THE CAMP LOCATED?

Our Summer Academy is conveniently located at Mitchel Field Athletic Complex. The complex address is 1 Charles Lindbergh Blvd Uniondale, NY 11553. Campers will meet each morning at the Welcome Station located at the center of the complex.

WHAT DO YOU DO IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER?

Mitchel Field Athletic Complex has a 100 yard indoor turf training building as well as an indoor gymnasium facility across the street from complex grounds that we will use in the event of inclement weather. This ensures campers are active, having fun and playing even when it rains.

Mitchel Field Athletic Complex is also within walking distance to the Long Island Children’s Museum and Cradle of Aviation Museum as well as surrounded by East Meadow Bowling Alley and several Movie Theatres. While we aim to keep the focus on softball, these field trip venues may be used in the event of long term and consistent inclement weather.

HOW ARE CAMPERS GROUPED?

Each Monday morning coaches have an “evaluation day.” That helps us place campers in groups by ability first and age second.

WHAT DOES MY CHILD NEED?

For camp your child will need a glove, sneakers or athletic turf shoes, and shorts or softball pants with high socks. A full camp uniform consisting of camp T-Shirts, water bottle, and athletic bag will be provided for each camper.

DOES MY CHILD NEED LUNCH?

You need to provide a lunch for your child each day. No glass bottles, sodas, or energy drinks are allowed. We provide nut-free snacks before dismissal each day.  Please inform us on the registration form if you child has any allergies.

WHO ARE YOUR COACHES?

We are very selective with our coaching staff and offer some of the best instructors in the area. Our senior coaches have extensive coaching experience, some at the college or top high school level and/or playing experience at a high level. We also have several excellent junior coaches who currently play high level college or high school softball.  Each division has at least two head coaches.

WHAT IS THE CAMPER TO COACH RATIO?

At Kids of Summer we take pride in offering personal attention to all of our campers. camper to coach to camper ratio will never exceed 6 to 1.

WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS NEVER PLAYED?

Kids of Summer is great for beginners as well as advanced players. We will find the right fit for your child’s ability and divide the campers into several groups ranging from beginners all the way to elite level high school ball players.

DO I HAVE TO SIGN UP FOR A MINIMUM AMOUNT OF TIME?
